G NOTES Daily Devotional Guide- Studies in becoming fully developing followers of Christ By: Pastor Leo Genota CORE BELIEF: TRINITY
This devotional guide is a tool for personal devotion, small group discussion or family altar time TODAY’S MESSAGE: ( Thursday August 7 ,2008) The Importance of being Spirit-filled What do all these mean to us? Is there another way to live our Christian life? There is no other way to live. The only way to live is to live a life in the Spirit
I. READING:
Ephesians 5:18 “ And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit” II. CORE THOUGHT:
The only way to live is to live a life in the Spirit
Important Points: There is no way we can serve Christ without the Spirit of God. What happens when we serve God in our own strength or ability? What are the results if we serve him by means of our flesh?
There is no way we can become like Christ without the Spirit of God. What are the Christ-like qualities that he wants for our lives? Read Gal 5:22
There is no way we can obtain victory over sin and temptation without the Spirit of God.
How did the Spirit help Jesus when he was tempted by the devil? Read Luke 4 III. PRAYER FOR THE DAY:
Pray for our church : for our pastor, elders, ministry leaders, and members. · Pray for our pastor’s immigration papers and for provision this summer · Pray for our Sunday School teachers and leaders · Pray for our worship team and for our services · Pray for our members especially those that are sick and struggling with their personal lives · Pray for our member’s spiritual growth and commitment IV. DOING THE DISCIPLINE: Now let’s apply the word of God in our life. Thinking about what we learned and read today. · Is there any sin to confess?
· Is there any attitude to change? · Is there any principle to obey? · Is there any habit to develop? V. MEMORY VERSE:
Ephesians 5:18 “ Do not be drunk with wine, which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit” Write your thoughts in a journal or notebook so that you can keep track of your spiritual progress. God may give you revelation as you keep your heart open to the word of God and to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Last update : Thursday, 07 August 2008
