The Christian water baptism we practice today continues to be an important part of the ministry of the church. Like communion, it is one of the ordnances handed down to us by Jesus. It is a public confession and testimony of one who is seeking forgiveness and to be reconciled with God.

It is a sad fact of modern Christianity that one of the hotly contested issues that separate people is baptism, its purpose and its various practices.

It is also important to remember that when you are baptized, you are not baptized into a particular church or denomination; you are baptized into the body of Christ!
